What I Got for Christmas 2015!

Hey Preps!
Let's be totally honest, everyone loves to watch those videos on YouTube of everyone's Christmas gifts. Well, I thought it would be fun to join in, and on my Instagram it seemed like y'all wanted to check out mine! I am so grateful to be able to receive these gifts and I am so grateful for y'all! For Christmas this year, I got so many awesome gifts. First off, I received items from so many preppy brands. For example, Jadelynn Brooke, Kate Spade, J.Crew, Vineyard Vines and others too! It was a very preppy Christmas!

Santa brought me one of Jadelynn Brooke's adorable sleep shirts. I received the "Party All Night Sleep All Day" pajama shirt. It is super cute, and I absolutely love it. I also got their "Preppy Nation" sweatshirt and the "Where There is Pink, There is a Party" long-sleeved tee. They are absolutely fantastic. I also got a Jadelynn Brooke "Happy" sticker and a "Christmas Happy" drink holder. I received those from Mr. Claus. I also got some adorable Kate Spade items from the jolly man. I got the Kate Spade Penn Valley Amy, striped, cross body purse and the Kate Spade Gold Moon River Bow Earrings. I absolutely love the earrings and purse. They are so cute and I think they go well with anything. Another gift from Kris Kringle, was an Ivory Ella iPhone case. I have a 5s, so I got the Painted White Bamboo Ella Phone Case. I think it is super cool and you can feel where part of the wood was carved. Also from Mr. Kringle, I received an oval, silver, monogrammed ring. If you follow me on Instagram (@socutesoprep) you probably saw it in my post on Christmas. I like it a lot and I plan on wearing it everyday. The last gift from Santa that I will tell you about is my brand new vest. I received the J.Crew Factory Quilted Puffer Vest in Navy Blue. It is seriously one of the cutest vests I have worn. Practically everything goes with it, and it is super cute. From my wonderful grandma and grandpa, I received an adorable Vineyard Vines Shep Shirt. I love it SO much and it is super preppy. I also got a navy monogrammed sweatshirt with the shep shirt and it is so cute. I had both of these on my list if you saw my Christmas wish list post, and I got the exact ones I was wishing for. Also, from my aunt, uncle and cousins, I got a super cute Simply Southern Tervis Tumbler, which I have been using everyday since Christmas. My sister gave me a fabulous layered pendant necklace from Francesca's and some adorable, polka-dotted, J.Crew trouser socks. They go super well with my bean boots and they look so good. They are white with small, black dots, so they are very neutral and go with any outfit. I also got Bath and Body Works, Lush, EOS and Starbucks.
I hope that your holiday season was great and I hope next year will be just as good as the last. Happy 2016!!

Traveling!

Hey Preps!
Who's excited for Christmas! Right now I am taking an 8 hour road trip to my Grandparents' house. Here's a picture I took (out the window😂). I hope everyone is having a great Winter Break! I just wanted to let you know that I will be out of town and spending time with my family so that is why there may not be many posts this week. I also wanted to apologize about my posting lately. I haven't been posting lately because I was sick for awhile and then I had lots of homework and cheer practices. That's all for now! Love y'all!

Lazy Preppy Days!

Hey Preps!
Some days when you first wake up and think about what you're going to wear is dreadful. You immediately think, "ugh... I have to look nice today too? I don't feel like it." So you decide to wear t-shirt  and yoga pants. No. If you're a girl working so hard to have a preppy style you're about to slaughter your hard work if you wear something strange. Here are a couple ways to stay comfy and still look cute.
Remember, take the weather under consideration. I have some outfit ideas for all seasons, so get ready.
Summer:
Obviously you're not going to dress super cute during the summer because hopefully you will be swimming and having a great time with the seasonal activities. But let's be honest, you're bound to hang out with friends inside the air-conditioned house most of the time. You will of course be taking pictures for social media later, so you have to look cute. Here's an idea, tank top and shorts. You can wear an adorable monogrammed tank and denim shorts with Rainbow's. Rainbow's are super comfortable and stylish. Monogrammed tank tops are ADORABLE and affordable. They come in so many summery colors and they look so cute on everybody. Another outfit idea is a short-sleeved, navy, Vineyard Vines tee, white shorts and Jack Rogers. I think that the Vineyard Vines tees are super cute and comfortable. White shorts are just a basic necessity that every girl needs in the Summer. Lastly, Jack Rogers are great for any preppy girl. Everyone should have a good pair of sandals during the summer for outfits like these, or when you go out to dinner and wear a dress. I think sandals are definitely a go to.
Fall:
Aaahh. The stress of Fall. School's starting back up again and you HAVE to own the best wardrobe. You want to walk into school and have everyone compliment your outfit. At least that's what is going through my mind when I am back to school shopping. Yet you still have those lazy days. Here are the outfits I came up with. First, a plain colored v-neck and light wash jeans, that are rolled up at the bottom with Jack Rogers. It looks so cute and stylish. You don't have to wear jewelry but it is definitely an option. Another Fall outfit idea would be to wear a 3/4 sleeve top and rolled, light jeans with Rainbow's Flip Flops. I think that since during Autumn it is cooler in the morning and then burning up in the afternoon, the 3/4 sleeves is a good idea.
Winter:
Where I live, it is supposed to be in the 70°s on Christmas. :( I don't understand! Isn't Winter supposed to be cold? Usually we have colder Winters but hey I guess I am not complaining, we could have three feet of snow. Anyways, outfit ideas. For some good Winter outfits, I like the idea of vests and cozy sweaters. Here's an idea, wear a Vineyard Vines tee or a Simply Southern tee and a fantastic Jadelynn Brooke sweatshirt with dark jeans and Bean Boots. BAM! Super cute! You could also switch the jeans to leggings but it is your choice. Another outfit idea would be a super soft and cozy sweater from Gap with leggings and cute Bean Boot socks from J.Crew along with Bean Boots. That would be a super cute outfit and very comfortable.
Spring:
Spring is such a great season, flowers blooming, baby ducks and rabbits everywhere and the weather is perfect. I like to pair shirts with cardigans because it is still cool out. Here are some great ideas I came up with. First, a navy v-neck and a patterned cardigan with jeans and white Converse. Another idea is a short-sleeved Simply Southern shirt or a monogrammed Frocket with jeans and white Converse or Sanuks. I think that outfit would be super cute and comfy. I like all of these outfit choices and I would definitely wear them. Lots of these brands can be expensive so please don't think you have to wear these to be preppy. I know that Sperry has a cheaper alternative for Bean Boots and I don't think Sanuks are too expensive but I am not sure. I hope these gave you some great inspiration for your seasonal outfits! Love y'all so much!

Designed Cardigans/Vests!

Hey Preps!
I love wearing designed vests and cardigans. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably have seen me wear my pink and navy flowered vest. I received it for Christmas last year, from Lands End. It is so cute and easy to style. I like to wear a plain sweater with the lace trim at the bottom. I think those sweaters go great with the vest. Since I love wearing designed outer layers, I have some cute designed cardigans too. I have a polka-dotted one, and some cute random patterned ones. I like to wear plain colored v-necks with those. I have a navy one and a maroon v-neck. I think that these outfits are perfect for a simple day at school. When you wear a vest, it looks like you're trying to look very nice and preppy, even when you're not. If you don't feel like putting on lots of pearls and jewelry but still want to look nice, vests and cardigans are definitely a go to.

Bean Boots!

Hey Preps!
I just received my bean boots two weeks ago! I love them so much and they go well with everything! I like to wear taller socks with them and they peek out at the perfect height! I think they look great with any outfit and they add a pop of preppy to anything you wear. One bad thing about them is that they take a long time to finally ship and arrive. Other than that, they are very cute. I like them a lot, and I hope that y'all can find some!

Patagonias!

Hey Preps!
I have been loving Patagonias! They are so cute and easy to throw on. Whether it is a Patagonia vest, jacket or pullover, they look great on anybody and everybody. I think they are definitely a go to.

Shep Shirts!

Hey Preps!
I have been seriously loving Vineyard Vines. They have a great Christmas section on their website. I am asking for one of their most popular items. Shep Shirts. When I had to make my Christmas list, these immediately popped into my mind. I raced to their website and typed in Shep Shirts. They have a great variety, but the one I am asking for is the Dot Stripe Shep Shirt. It is currently out of stock, but surely you can get it after the holidays. I think that shep shirts are great for lazy days at school, but if you still want to be your preppy self. They are very cozy and look great on everyone. If you want one, add it to your Christmas list, or head on over right now!

Puravida Bracelets!

Hey Preps!
I have noticed so many people at my school wearing these very neat-looking bracelets. I thought they looked cool so during the first few weeks of school, I asked my friend what they were called. She said, "Oh! My sister has one of those and I really want one. They are called Puravida bracelets." So during study hall, we had nothing better to do, so we looked up the website. I found so many cute ones and made a list. Obviously I didn't receive all of them since the list was so long, but I recently bought two. I went to this adorable store called Lou Lou's and they had a lot there. I got "Toes in the Sand" and "Dreaming in Color." They are only five dollars and they are so cute. One of the best parts about them is that on their website they have a whole page for charities. They have certain colored bracelets that represent different charities and they donate the proceeds of that bracelet to the charity. They have so many designs and they are all at great prices. Some of them have intricate beading so they're a little more expensive, but nothing crazy. I like these bracelets a lot and I definitely recommend them. They are such great quality and they look so cool. If you are interested in purchasing one, here is the link to their website.

Monograms!

Hey Preps!
I love monograms! I had a monogrammed sweatshirt, but I grew out of it. :( I am asking for a new one for Christmas from Pinky Girl Monograms. I love their shop. I received a monogrammed hat from them and many of my friends got rain jackets, shirts and other items too. I definitely recommend their store because they have great customer service, they ship quickly and their merchandise is beautifully done. I also love Alli Monograms. I received their October deal of the month and I absolutely love it. They make their monograms very nicely and the stickers stay very well. I absolutely love any monogram I receive. If you are looking for monogrammed items I definitely recommend these stores and websites.

Winter Shoes!

Hey Preps!
It is almost Winter! There is only one day left in November and then its the holiday season! I am super excited! We can go back to wearing Uggs, Bean Boots, furry socks and others. I am hoping to get Ugg slippers this season too. Here are some of my favorite Winter shoes. Enjoy!

I love the classic Ugg boot. Short or tall, they look adorable. When it is a frigid day, but you want to go to the mall with friends, these are definitely a go to.
I love these adorable slippers. I don't have a pair, but I am hoping for some this Christmas. Loads of girls have them at my school, and they wear them whenever they wear yoga pants. I think that they are a great addition to a Winter shoe collection and are perfect for a cold school day. They also are great for a snow day, after you ran errands or were out in the snow, to kick on and relax by the fire. They can be a bit expensive, especially if you don't know if you will wear them a lot. Target has almost an identical pair that would be perfect if you aren't sure if you want the Ugg brand yet.
When I think preppy shoes, my mind immediately goes to bean boots. I love them and they go with so many outfits. My bean boots are supposed to come December 7th and I ordered them in the beginning of October. They take a long time to ship, so I recommend going to your local L.L.Bean store. You can buy them right then and there. These are definitely a go to when it is raining or snowing or even a sunny day. They look fantastic with anything.
I love a good pair of riding boots. They go well with so many outfits, especially jeans and sweaters. I think they make you look taller, but that is my opinion. I also really like them with tights and a cute dress for Christmas or Christmas Eve. They look great with any outfit.

Preppy Stickers!

Hey Preps!
I have been having a lot of fun collecting stickers. A while ago, I found out that many of my favorite preppy brands send out free stickers! I have had a lot of fun finding new stickers. I'm still growing my sticker collection, but here's how I first started out.

1. Search-
There are lots of preppy companies, but not all give stickers. If you've seen someone else with a certain sticker you want, I recommend asking them how they got it. I know that some companies sell stickers for one dollar. Honestly, I would rather go through all the work to fill out applications and send emails to get free stickers. But that is just me. You need to research the companies to save time from sending an email and them sending back, "Oh! We would love to send stickers to you, but we have a sticker application on our website for you to fill out." That would be embarrassing and annoying, if you waited a long time for them to respond.
2. Be Prepared-
A lot of the time companies will take a long time to send you stickers. You're not the only one who asked for some. It can take time, so don't expect them to come right away. It is so much fun when you come home from school, or go to get the mail and a sticker is sitting there. They come at different times, so it is kind of a random present.
I love my sticker collection and I hope it keeps growing. Here are some companies that give out free stickers. Have fun sticker hunting!

Thanksgiving Outfits!

Hey Preps!
Gobble gobble! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! I am just imagining all that delicious food right now! Yum..... Anyways, I was having trouble picking out my Thanksgiving outfit for tomorrow, so I wanted to give you guys some help!
First, I was thinking pants. I don't want to be too dressy because we are hosting Thanksgiving at my house, so I am not going out anywhere. I wanted to wear something that would expand as I eat throughout the day. Leggings expand, but they are a little too casual (See how we are narrowing things down? I had to do this to finally pick out an outfit, which you'll see tomorrow if you follow my Instagram @socutesoprep) So, as I narrowed more things down it finally hit me. Jeggings! They are the perfect addition to any outfit, especially colored ones. I love my jeggings from Gap. I have a pair that is green and I absolutely adore them. They add a small pop of color to any outfit because they are dark green and they look like real jeans, which is nice. So, I like the look of jeggings and some sort of sweater or top. I will be wearing a sweater because it is cold here but depending on where you live you can wear whatever you choose. Then, my outfit is complete.
Another outfit idea was a sweater with a skater skirt or a sweater dress. I have a really cute sweater dress from American Eagle that I love. I got it to wear on Christmas Eve and I just can't wait. I really like the look of sweater dresses and I think they are a great outfit for any Thanksgiving dinner. I hope these ideas helped you! Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Vests!

Hey Preps!
Just imagine: "Mom, its so cold out and I have nothing to wear that's warm. I will be freezing!" "Honey, check the downstairs closet for some sort of jacket or sweatshirt or even a cardigan. I know you love fashion these days!" She replies. You roll your eyes and mutter "I will look weird if I wear a jacket all day." You open the closet and imagine the angels singing Hallelujah! You yell in excitement, grab what you saw and immediately swing it on. Then, you dash up the stairs.
Can you guess what you saw? Well, probably by the title it was pretty obvious. In the Winter there are plenty of freezing cold weeks. By Thursday or Friday, all you have left are light sweaters. They're not enough to keep you warm on this biting cold day. What you can wear is luckily one of the most popular trends these days. A cozy, thick vest. I think they are ADORABLE paired with a simple or casual outfit. Vests can dress it up or dress it down. I have noticed many girls wearing J.Crew vests, and I want one really bad. I really want the navy blue, plain one because navy goes with basically everything. I haven't seen anyone in the black and white printed J.Crew vest, but I want that one too. I think that they look very good on a bitter freezing day, but not only good. They keep you very warm. I think vests are the perfect addition to your Winter wardrobe.

Flannels!

Hey Preps!
It has been getting colder and colder as we near December. I love cold days because we get to wear the adorable, preppy Winter styles. I have been seeing a plethora of girls wearing charming flannels around school. I have seen different versions of outfits, different colors and contrasting fabrics. I thought it would be entertaining to come up with some different outfits you can wear with button-down flannels.
First, you could wear a colorful flannel with a plain scarf. Say you are wearing a red flannel with navy blue plaid stripes. You could make the blue pop by wearing a navy scarf. Another way to wear a vibrant flannel is with a skirt. I haven't seen anyone wearing these cute shirts with a skirt yet, but I thought it would look unique tucked into any colored skater skirt. Maybe a blue flannel with a red skirt or a green shirt and red skirt would look great for a Christmas party. Lastly, I thought a flannel would look absolutely adorable if you wore it unbuttoned over a black dress. You could wear it with a diamond-like statement necklace and white Converse. That would make a very dressy, casual look. It would be absolutely fabulous. I hope this blog gave you some great outfit ideas!

Scarves!

Hey Preps!
Sometimes there are accessories that are very hard to style. Especially scarves. I will be walking around the mall, or in the hallway at school and I will see people in scarves with just a plain tee. Sometimes that works, but very rarely. It will look a little strange most of the time. As in wearing a plain, short-sleeved, navy blue tee with a patterned scarf. Personally I think that wearing a scarf and a short-sleeved shirt looks a bit odd. It looks strange to me because if it is warm enough to wear a short-sleeved shirt, it isn't cold enough to wear a scarf. But that's just me. Also, scarves are hard to style because of the sizing. I will see girls at school wearing thin, tiny scarves. I think it looks kind of strange because it doesn't fit them right. They look like little baby scarves. I understand that if they saw them at the store and thought the pattern was so cute they had to get it, but it still looks pretty strange.
The way I like to style scarves is with a plain sweater. A plain grey or navy sweater looks good with a patterned scarf, or you can wear a plain scarf with a lightly designed sweater. I really like to pair scarves with the plain sweaters with lace on the bottom. I think that looks really pretty and nice. Scarves are very hard to style, but if you do it correctly, they look amazing. Here are some cute scarves that I like. Enjoy!

Lokai Bracelets!

Hey Preps!
I recently got two Lokai bracelets for my birthday (in October). I love them so much and wear them almost everyday. I got the classic, clear bracelet and the pink (for breast cancer awareness month), limited edition one. They are very cool and different looking so I like them a lot. These bracelets are made out of rubbery material and have a special surprise inside. There are two special colored beads, one white and the other black. In the white bead, there is some water from the top of Mount Everest. Then, in the black one there is mud from the bottom of the Dead Sea. It represents life's highs and lows. Lastly, another neat part about these awesome bracelets is that with every purchase, they donate money to charity. For every bracelet, they donate 10% of the profit. I think that is awesome because not all companies do that. Here's where you can get yours:

Chambray Shirts!

Hey Preps!
I have been loving my chambray shirts. If you don't know what that is, it is a button-down shirt that is made out of light denim-like fabric. They go very well with colored jeans and I love the look of them in the fall. I like to pair mine with dark green jeans and white converse. Personally, I think that the lighter wash shirt is cuter, but everyone has different opinions. Other ways to style chambray shirts are with dark jeans, boots and a wool or sweater scarf. I also like the look of wearing it unbuttoned over a white sundress. Here is a shirt I like. Enjoy!

Sweaters!

Hey Preps!
As it gets colder, I have been wearing sweaters. I wanted to recommend some great stores that have cute sweaters. I have been loving the sweaters at JCrew, Gap, H&M, American Eagle and Nordstrom. JCrew has the cutest sweaters for the holidays. Gap has very nice solid colored sweaters. American Eagle has lots of designed sweaters and so does H&M. Lastly Nordstrom has some cute sweaters in the TopShop section. I sure do love all of these stores' sweaters, and I hope these help you!

Preppy Tees!

Hey Preps!
Sometimes everyone needs a lazy day. After dressing nice all week and I don't feel like it that day, I always turn to a preppy tee. I like to wear Simply Southern, Ivory Ella, Jadelynn Brooke,  and others too. I think they are a great way to end the school week or even to just take a break on Wednesday. I like to turn to them when I forget to lay out an outfit the night before. Here are some I like or want. Enjoy!

Converse!

Hey Preps!
I have been loving my pair of Converse. I have the white low-top ones. I think they look good with any outfit, even dresses. I like to wear them with my jeans rolled up at the bottom and a cute top. Also, I think that they look great with leggings. Leggings are really hard to style shoes with because they look weird with flip flops. Boots like Uggs look good with leggings, but you have to wait until it is Winter, otherwise you look weird. But year around, leggings and capri leggings look good with any colored Converse. A lot of my friends have different colors, red, blue, tan and others too. Each color looks good with any outfit. Here are a couple of my personal favorites. Enjoy!

Holiday Season!

Hey Preps!
Recently, I have been getting really excited for Christmas. I have been working on my Christmas wish list, and it has been very hard to find out what I want. I only have six items on my list and that is not very many for me. I'm sure that as it gets closer to the holidays and catalogs start to come out, I will start to want plenty of stuff. But for now, I will continue to have "writer's block." I thought that if y'all were having as much trouble as I am, you could use some ideas. Here are a few items I am wishing for this Christmas. Enjoy!

Boot Socks!

Hey Preps!
Recently, it has been getting colder where I live. I have been able to wear boots, sweaters and scarves without sweating to death by the end of the school day. Something that I have been sporting lately are boot socks. Today, I wore a pair of white, monogrammed boot socks with my Hunter's. I absolutely LOVE any pair of socks that poke out of your boots just enough to pull your entire outfit together. I have been waiting for my L.L.Bean Bean Boots to arrive (which are supposed to arrive in December) because I saw these adorable socks at H&M the other day they were grey and white with little patterns on them and they made me think of Christmas. I wanted to get them, but they were a bit out of my budget. I thought they would look so cute during the holidays with my bean boots. Also, I love the look of boot socks with tall, leather boots. I have these adorable dark gray socks with light gray bows on the back of them that look fantastic with leather boots. Whenever I wear them, plenty of girls compliment them, even my teachers! Lastly, I really enjoy boot cuffs. They're almost "fabric rings" with grip stuff attached on the inside so they don't slip down. You slide them up to where you want them, put on your boots and it looks like you are wearing boot socks! I think that those are great for people who don't like to wear knee socks. I have burgundy sweater material cuffs and white lace ones. Honestly, I think that boot socks look great with any outfit. Here are a couple that I like or have. Enjoy!

Watches!

Hey Preps!
Recently I got an absolutely adorable watch from one of the cutest stores at the mall, Francesca's. It is definitely one of my favorite pieces of arm candy. It has a gray leather strap with light gold hardware. The face of the watch is a bit smaller, but I still love it. Inside, there is a little gold elephant under the twelve. Every time I look at it I smile because the elephant is so cute. It was a great price for a watch at Francesca's because they're a bit pricey. I got mine on sale, and it was only $10.00. To me, that was a pretty good deal. I think that watches are a great piece of jewelry, they are very simple and look great with any outfit. Of course, there are different sized faces and the different sizes suit many people. I like the smaller sized ones. My older sister has a large watch that she adores. Sometimes, depending on the size, they can be a little more pricey. I love Francesca's because they usually have a sale on jewelry whenever I go into the store. Obviously, you don't have to choose a watch at Francesca's because there are plenty of different stores with them. Here are a few that I love! Enjoy!

It's fall y'all!

 Hey preps!
It's finally reaching fall-like temperatures where I live. I'm getting so excited! We can finally wear fall sweaters and scarves. To me, there is nothing that can pull an autumn outfit together better than a good pair of booties! I have a pair that I absolutely adore. They are the Jack Rogers Bailee Suede Booties. Jack Rogers is a bit of an expensive brand, but I wear them a lot. Whenever I wear them to school or out and about, I get so many compliments! Honestly, I think that some outfits just have to be worn with booties, especially if it is kind of a boring outfit, maybe jeans and a plain sweater. If you are shorter, you can get heeled booties and if you are tall, go with flats. I think that a great pair of brown or black booties can suit anyone no matter their height or foot size. Here are three of my favorite pairs! Enjoy!
