What I Got for Christmas 2016!

Hey Preps!
Happy holidays! Christmas has just passed and some of y'all asked for a "What I Got for Christmas" so here it is. I am so grateful for these gifts and hope you enjoy my haul featuring SGPrep, Devon Maryn, Kate Spade and more!

The first gift I received was a Lilly Pulitzer phone case. It is in the print Sunken Treasure and is the cutest. The pops of pink and coral bring out the rose gold from the phone itself. The next thing I got was a pair of Vineyard Vines Christmas pajama pants. Mine are navy with the whales wearing santa hats all over them. Another Vineyard Vines item I got was a set of two notebooks with the patchwork design all over them. Next, I got a few more Lilly gifts. I got the new pajama pants in the print Sparkling Blue Fan-tastic. I also got a wristlet in the print Exotic Garden. Another Lilly gift and one of my favorites was the getaway packable tote in the print Navy Coco Safari. This is to die for. The print is absolutely adorable with pink pineapples all over it. This will be great for traveling. It also folds up into a little pouch for easy storage. Along with that, I also got the 2016 annual Lilly Christmas ornament. This is a great addition to our Christmas tree. Aside from the Lilly, I got a lot of other darling gifts as well. I got a great pair of Devon Maryn leggings with pink lobsters on the side (get yourself a pair using my coupon code: "SOCUTESOPREP10"). These are perfect for days when you are out running errands and when working out or at sports practices. I got two Southern Girl Prep t-shirts and a Southern Girl Prep scarf. I got the CUTEST toiletry bag from Kate Spade. It is white with gray bows all over it and a pink zipper and handle, definitely great for traveling. Along with the Kate Spade toiletry bag, I got a Kate Spade wallet that is black with white dots on it. This looks great with some of my similar purses. The last of the Kate Spade, I got a pastel pink and gold set of a skinny mini bow bangle and matching bow earrings. Some other jewelry I got was a set of earrings from Spartina, a tassel necklace from Lilly Pulitzer, pineapple earrings from Prep Obsessed, a monogrammed bracelet and a stylish pearl monogrammed necklace from Shop I Love Jewelry. Along with the jewelry, I got a jewelry organizer called jewelry stax. I also got a new hair straightener called Simply Straight. It is half straightener, half hairbrush so when you brush through your hair it heats up and straightens it. It is super cool and works very well. Lastly, I got a couple gift cards to Starbucks, Amazon and Kendra Scott. I am so excited to use those.
I had a great Christmas and was so lucky to be able to receive these amazing gifts. I hope y'all had a great holiday season! Wishing you a happy 2017!

Preppy Girls Guide to Fall Essentials!!

Hey Preps!
Its finally that time of year again! I have to say, Fall is definitely my favorite season for putting together outfits. Here is a list of my Fall essentials:

1. Gingham Button Down- This is definitely a Fall essential. These tops are perfect for simple Fall outfits. You can add a pop of color with a pink sweater, layer different shirts and cardigans over, pop on a vest, the possibilities are really endless on how to style this top.

2. Pearl Necklace- Pearls can add a nice touch of class to a simple outfit. You could wear a t-shirt dress and a pearl necklace and it instantly becomes a dressed-up look.

3. Vest- This is one of my favorite Fall necessities. I have one puffer vest from J.Crew and I love it so much. I am thinking about getting a fleece one from Vineyard Vines. These are great for staying in style while bundling up!

4. Booties- Booties are a must. They look so nice with jeans and they really tie into Fall. I have a pair from Jack Rogers and I love wearing these everywhere.

5. Bean Boots- These are SO adorable. They are great for rainy and snowy days, but you can wear them WHENEVER! Even when it is a bright, sunny day, they still look nice. I love mine and I can't wait to bring them back out for the season. I like to pair them with J.Crew socks, and when I am wearing them with a more casual outfit, they look great with tall Nike socks. They are on the expensive side, but definitely a great, useful buy!

6.  Shep Shirt- Obviously these aren't really "essentials," they are just things that I feel I need to achieve adorable Fall looks. One of my favorites is a Vineyard Vines shep shirt. I love wearing this by itself or layering it with a buttton down.

7. Cinched Skirt- I have an olive green J.Crew cinch skirt and I love styling it for Fall. It looks great with sweaters and vests. This is definitely a great fashion item for Fall parties.

Preppy Room Tour!!

Hey Preps!
I am so excited to do this post. I have seen many other bloggers and YouTubers do this, and I was lucky enough to have just redone my room! I wanted to show y'all how I styled it. Let's take a look inside my room!

This is the "overview" of my bedroom. I put in a lot of time and effort coming up with the look of my room, so I hope you like it! My room really represents my style. I used my favorite color combo, NAVY AND CORAL!!!

Here is my door from the inside of my room. I put a patterned 'C' (World Market) over my light switches. I also have a printout calendar on the back of my door for blog post, giveaway and photo planning.
To the right of my door, I have my full-length mirror. I strung some little, pink lantern lights (Target) around it.
Next to my mirror is my closet. I have two hooks that I hang my hats on. It is just a normal purse hook so I am sure you can get one anywhere.

In the corner next to my closet, I have my chair. I love the bright pop of coral this chair adds to my room (World Market). I draped my floral blanket (Vera Bradley) on the back of it and added an emoji pillow. I am not quite sure where this pillow is from, I got it as a gift, but they are everywhere nowadays, so I am sure if you just search it online you could find one.

By my chair, is my night-stand. I have a white, bow lamp (not sure where it is from), a monogrammed tray (local boutique), a clock and a little quoted picture. This tray is super handy for hair-ties and bobby pins.

Next, is one of my favorite parts of my room. I really believe that your bedspread and pillows pull your room together, so I focused a lot on this part of my room. My duvet cover and bedskirt are from Pottery Barn, my coral shams are from World Market, all the throw pillows and the pom pom blanket are from Target. My monogram wall decal is from Etsy.

Next is my desk. I have a monogrammed clipboard set on it, a Lilly Pulitzer stationary set and a mason jar with pens and pencils. Over my desk is a Lilly Pulitzer whale garland. I saw this idea on Daily Dose of Prep and loved it. I found the whale printable on Pinterest. Hanging above my desk are my shelves with knick-knacks.

Now this, is definitely my favorite corner of my room. I have my dress form! I love it so so much. I use it to display and plan outfits. Right now, I have my homecoming dress on it. I got the dress form at a local market, and my homecoming dress is from an online boutique.
Over the dress form, I have my gallery wall. It took a long time to put this together, but I am so happy with the finished product. A majority of the prints are from Etsy, PaperSource, and local boutiques.
Next to my gallery wall, there is my dresser. I just keep my jewelry box and some ring dishes on here, as well as a three-drawer container with stickers kept in it.

To the right of my dresser, I have this 4-hook set (Home Depot) with my everyday necklaces hung on there.
That is my room! That is everything you can find in my bedroom. This is also where I plan my blog posts and Instagram pics. You should definitely follow me on Instagram and check my blog each Sunday for new posts. Hope you enjoyed and don't forget to check out my Instagram! You can find me by searching @socutesoprep On my Instagram you can find giveaways, preppy posts and discount codes! It is definitely a party on my account. Check back for a new post next week!

Fall Lookbook!!

Hey Preps!
Fall is finally near! October is creeping up on us and I am so excited! I have prepared some Autumn looks to share with y'all, so take a look!
For the first outfit, I paired my J.Crew cinch skirt in olive green with this darling gray and white striped sweater from Banana Republic. To accessorize, I added my navy blue J.Crew puffer vest, along with a House of Harlow necklace. With this outfit, the monogrammed boot socks look fabulous.

This outfit is definitely my favorite of this lookbook. I layered my gingham button down from J.Crew underneath my Vineyard Vines shep shirt. I think it makes the outfit extra fun. I also paired my Hunter boots with this outfit. As for jewelry, I wore my Kendra Scott Elisa pendant necklace, pearl earrings and my Lemon & Line knot bracelet and Kendra Scott bracelet.

This look is great while transitioning from Summer to Fall. I wore my gingham button down again, but layered my hot pink sweater from Nordstrom on top. I wore my Jack Rogers and the same jewelry from the previous look.

Lastly, I styled my gingham top again. I have to say, gingham button downs are definitely a Fall essential for any preppy gal. This time, I wore it with my J.Crew puffer vest, a pearl necklace from Francescas, and J.Crew socks with my Bean Boots from L.L.Bean. I really love this look! I think the necklace really pulls it together.

DIY Monogrammed Pillowcase and Blanket!!

Hey Preps!
Ever thought of personalizing your fabric items, but they don't work with stickers? Iron-on monograms are perfect for that! Here are two great ideas for where you can use your iron-on decals:

The first DIY is an adorable monogrammed pillowcase. Here is what you'll need:
You will need a pillowcase of your choice, (mine came with a set of sheets from Target) a monogrammed iron-on decal, (I totally recommend Alli Monograms. Her monograms are super cute, affordable and great quality. Be sure to use my coupon code "socutesoprep" for 10% off at checkout!) you'll also need a small cutout of parchment paper.
I am using a 3.5" royal blue, vine font monogram decal.
 1. Begin heating your iron. Be sure that you have set your iron on the cotton setting.
2. Place your monogram on your pillowcase. I wanted mine on the end, but you can put yours on the corner, in the middle, wherever you'd like.

3. Keep the clear plastic on the decal, and set your parchment paper over top.
4. Press the warmed iron on the decal with medium/firm pressure and hold for 10 seconds. Be sure not to slide the iron, it could wrinkle or crinkle your decal. Make sure the entire transfer is covered.
5. Gently peel the clear sheet off the monogram. If the monogram is still not stuck to your pillowcase, repeat Step 4 until the clear sheet will peel off.

6. Cover the decal with your parchment piece and iron again for 2-3 seconds.

Now you're done! Wait 24 hours before washing your pillowcase and don't use fabric softener. This pillowcase is perfect for sleepovers, movie nights and a great gift idea! Enjoy! If you want to try this DIY at home, check out allimonograms.com they have tons of choices for adorable iron-ons. Plus, the decals are very easy to use, last a longtime and look darling! Keep scrolling for the next DIY!

The second DIY is a monogrammed fleece blanket. Here is what you'll need:
You will need a blanket of your choice, (I went out and got a light fleece blanket from Target for $10. You will want a fleece one because the fuzzy, shaggy ones will not cooperate with the monogram.) an iron-on monogram, (I am using another 3.5" monogram from Alli Monograms in purple. My coupon code is featured in the DIY above and on the "Shop" page, here on the blog.) you will also need a small cutout of parchment paper. (The parchment paper is included with your iron-on purchase from Alli Monograms!!) Now, onto the blanket. You will follow the same steps for the iron-on monogram for your blanket as well.

 1. You will want to find where you are placing your monogram. I chose one of the corners, but it would be so cute if you got a bigger monogram and put it in the middle!

2. Place your parchment paper over the monogram and hold the iron on for 10 seconds. If it still doesn't stick, repeat this step. Because of the blanket material, the iron might make some marks, but if you rub your fingers over the marks, the fleece will go back to normal instead of being so flat.
3. Peel off the clear plastic, lay your parchment paper on top and iron for 2-3 seconds.

Now, you're done! This blanket/pillow duo is perfect for sleepovers. While we are talking about what is perfect for sleepovers, charger wraps are great! Me and my friends have them, and we never have to worry about taking someone else's charger home or getting them mixed up! The pillowcase and blanket look great together and will definitely be useful this Winter! This DIY is super easy to do, and Alli Monograms is definitely a reputable source for high-quality monograms. Go get yourself some with 10% off using my discount code "socutesoprep" Also, if you want to add a bit of sass to your blanket or pillow, she sells glitter iron-on monograms as well!
